AMD Ryzen 3900X I use reaches a boost frequency of 4,500 MHz and usually operates around 4.20 - 4.25 GHz on all [or most] cores. Mine is nowhere close to that. At max load leading up to that point I never breached 75c temperatures. By supplying the processor with less voltage we’re reducing the amount of heat generated in use. So where can i find the values on the right i circled? I tried some overclocking with Ryzen Master. i was able to run CBr20 and score 9533 at 4.1 all cores, 1.375v. Personally, I have my chip set to -1.0V so the 3900x never has more than 1.4V fed to it (I did the same on the 3700x; l actually had this CPU with a 1.250V undervolt and it did just as good as stock. Again, im not shooting for the stars but id also like things to be correct. PCB revision? The onboard firmware in the CPU controls that, not the power plan. There, Broke 8k lol. Maybe I'll make it 16-16-16-32. Messing around yesterday, either my chip is a complete dog or I'm really screwing things up. I watched this one the day I ordered the board. You're supposed to watch temps under heavy load, not while idling. Then they run hot. However, with the sh!tlet at 4.3, and the chiplet from 4.35 up to 4.425, I get the same score 7655. I am going to do some SMT testing and core preference testing tonight, ill let you know how that turns out too. I couldn't complete a CB20 run at 4.3 all core at even 1.3875v. With 4650 MHz as the maximum (and always very short) value reached, the Ryzen 9 3900X is still just below the 4.7 GHz mark, but still surprisingly high. What am I doing wrong? Asus board will idle in 1.4v mostly, yes it does dip to sub 1v but lot less than asrock board. Here is what I observed with a really good case airflow and Noctua D15 on my 3950X and 3900X alike. I changed RAM timings to 16-16-16-32 and still got horrible performance. Chip still wouldnt get stable over 4.6 with 1.4+ volts. for example, there are 2 VDDGs in the bios, and neither of them are labelled CLDO. Looks like you got GoldChain shitlet and he got your good chiplet. We're just discussing the 3900X for the sake of simplicity, here. I also tried the DRAM calculator tool, but that lead me nowhere as pretty much everything is was asking me to input, i didnt know. it doesnt explain any of this... i looked.
